Indian Education System
Despite a serious expenditure by the government on school education, India has been ranked on the downside of almost every list of international critics and educational agencies.
Current System of Education
The two chief pillars of the Indian Education System – CBSE and ICSE board (including the all-other state boards) deliver education until the higher secondary level.
Considering the benefits for the underprivileged segment of the population, education in India is cost-free for students till the age of 14 years. This means, that the government must deliver free and high-quality education to all the students till the age of 14.
Hereby, education for younger children is the utmost priority for the current system of education.
Emerging Trends in Indian Education
The education system of India started to transform after the CVOID-19 pandemic. The major nationwide modifications faced by the system are somehow because of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) and the digitalization of education. After the approval of the policy by the Union Cabinet of India on July 29th, 2020, the system now aims to deliver high-quality education to the future generation.
Additionally, the policy suggests educators and institutions should use the mother tongue or local language as the language of instruction till Grade 5, and the traditional 10+2 structure has been replaced with the all-new 5+3+3+4 structure to upgrade the curriculum. Overall, the new policy has set impressive expectations that may come true by the year 2040.
