PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The purpose of teaching Physical Education in Grade Pre-K is to encourage learners to take care of themselves.

Learning Objectives

Concept

  • The learner develops the social-emotional skills required to foster one’s overall health and well-being.
  • The learner develops an understanding of a healthy body.

  • The learner develops movement competence.
  • The learner reproduces activities taught in their daily life.

  • The learner develops an understanding of the factors which contribute to overall healthy development.
  • The learner begins to develop healthy living habits.

Application

  • The learner applies basic movement concepts in day-to-day activities.
  • The learner devises strategies to improve overall health.

Innovation

  • The learner develops inquisitiveness about personal fitness.
  • The learner develops the skill of inventing new games.

Compassion

  • The learner develops an understanding of positive mental health.
  • The learner  develops a feeling of concern for one’s family and friends in terms of health.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Concept - The learner is able to:

  • identify, maintain, and use space adequately;
  • function with respect to the surroundings.

Confidence - The learner is able to:

  • demonstrate an understanding of basic concepts of human locomotion;
  • promote the activities taught in the curriculum to their family members.

Clarity - The learner is able to:

  • identify one’s interests and abilities;
  • identify how movement affects the body.

Application - The learner is able to:

  • participate in physical activities such as- jumping and running;
  • perform simple exercises.

Innovation - The learner is able to:

  • identify non-locomotor skills that contribute to improved health and an active lifestyle;
  • perform various physical activities with more dedication.

Compassion - The learner is able to:

  • demonstrate concern for the safety of self within capacities;
  • motivate peers to perform physical activities more frequently.
